The 48″ x 6″ x 24″ upright headstone is Signature Headstones' large-format monument size, available with a 60″ base or a 66″ base with two vases, in five granite colors, priced $3,899–$4,799. Each stone is cut from solid granite and fully customizable in single or companion layouts through our online design app, with support available seven days a week. Confirm your cemetery's size and foundation rules before ordering.

Choosing Between the 60″ Base and 66″ Base with Two Vases

The two configurations share one granite tablet; they differ in base and vases. The 60″ Base runs $3,899–$4,399 for a classic single-base footprint. The 66″ Base & Two Vases runs $4,299–$4,799, adding width and built-in vases. Pick the wider base if your plot allows it and you want vases; pick the 60″ base for a tighter footprint. Both prices cover stone, engraving and design only; cemetery setting fees are separate.

Stone Colors Available in This Size

Five granite colors are offered: Bahama Blue, Black, Grey, Pink and Red. Bahama Blue and Grey read softly in most settings; Black and Red carve high-contrast lettering; Pink offers a lighter tone. Any color works in a single-name or companion two-name layout — see single upright options or double headstones for two names, and compare red granite across sizes.

Confirming Your Cemetery's Size & Foundation Requirements

A monument this large needs your cemetery's written approval first. Confirm the maximum size and thickness allowed in your section, whether a poured foundation is required under the base, and where the plot number must be engraved. Most cemeteries require their own crew or an approved installer to set it, and that fee is paid to the cemetery, separate from our stone price. The FTC's Funeral Rule protects consumers at funeral homes, not cemeteries, so get your cemetery's rules in writing (Monument Builders of North America has general guidance). Veterans may qualify for a government-furnished headstone or marker at no charge — see the VA's headstone, marker and medallion program for eligibility; setting fees at a private cemetery remain the family's responsibility. Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the 60″ base and 66″ base with two vases options?

Both use the same 48″ x 6″ x 24″ tablet. The 60″ base runs $3,899–$4,399 for a single-base footprint; the 66″ base with two vases runs $4,299–$4,799, adding width plus built-in vases for flowers.

Will my cemetery allow a 48″ x 6″ x 24″ upright monument, and do I need a foundation?

Each cemetery sets its own size, thickness and foundation rules by section, so confirm with your cemetery first and get those requirements in writing.

Does the price include installation or the cemetery's setting fee?

No. The price covers granite, engraving and design only. Installation and the cemetery's setting and foundation fees are billed separately by the cemetery.

Can I choose a single or companion (two-name) layout on this size, and what stone colors are available?

Yes, this size comes in single-name or companion two-name layouts, in Bahama Blue, Black, Grey, Pink or Red. Preview any combination in our online design app before production begins.
